VR for Empathy

This project is a research project to look into creating empathy using virtual reality. Empathy is lacking nowadays because of the use of technology like the mobile phone. It is easier to talk to people, but not directly. By using the immersive qualities of Virtual Reality, empathy may be created by putting users in the shoes of others.

What is the difference in effect of an active virtual reality and a passive virtual reality on creating empathy with a persuasive message? To answer this question, two games were made about illegal rhino poaching. In the passive game the user gets no choice to kill and has to follow a hunter, and in the active game has a choice to kill and is free to move around.
